Our Basic Training Course (BTC) is the starting point for Air Traffic Control (ATCO) trainees and lays an excellent foundation for the successful candidate to progress to an ATCO rating training course.
Whether trainees are heading towards an Aerodrome Control Tower, Approach Control Unit or Area Control Centre, our Basic Training Course lays a foundation of theoretical knowledge and basic practical skills in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 and compliant with EUROCONTROL Common Core Content Edition 2.0.
The content of the course is a first step towards a Student Air Traffic Controller license, covering aspects such as Air Traffic Management, Rules of the Air, Aircraft etc. required to perform as an Air Traffic Controller. The course holds an introduction to all ATC environments – Tower, Approach and Area Control.
The modular course design offers the opportunity to customise course content to meet customer requirements – please contact us to discuss options. In addition, we provide the opportunity for flying lessons enabling students to develop a wider and deeper perspective.
GATE Aviation Training academy and the Basic Training Course are certified by the Danish Civil Aviation Authority in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340.
The objective of our Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) Training Course is to enable the successful candidate to receive a Student Air Traffic Controller license for Tower operation.
The candidate at the centre of our training concept, we use modern learning principles and proven pedological techniques to provide candidates with high-class theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to receive a Student Air Traffic Controller license.
The course is divided into training phases based on a blended theoretical- and practical training methodology, supporting the candidates transfer of theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
Simulation during the course is performed in a state-of-the-art 3D Simulator including IFR and VFR aircraft movements which will gradually increase in the degree of difficulty and complexity.
The training course and simulator exercises can be customised to simulate any airport around the world. It optimises the candidate’s level for a faster transition time to the real-life environment – please contact us to discuss options.
